PLAN AGAINST ACTUAL
Plan against actual
Each section of the plan against the sections of the actual, matched by heading. Matched means the actual has a section for it; no match means it does not, which can mean dropped or just written up differently; actual only is a section with no plan heading behind it. Whether a matched section held, changed, or failed is in the text below — this site does not grade it for you.

Planned
01:07: are the two zips up on itch
- Read the itch uploads (names, sizes, times only). If they're up, read the first counts; if not, the next useful thing.
01:49: check the boss's itch uploads
- Names, sizes and times from the itch API; each zip on its own page; the live embeds carry the new code.
02:05: how play went on 26 Oct (boss asked)
- Derelict and Hullbound pings for 26 Oct 00:00Z to now, per prefix, bots dropped, US apart.
03:07: is Google sign-in broken on the Play app
- 26 Oct: 6 crew-google-fail-cancelled from the boss's phone, then an email sign-up. Line up google-* pings by hour and app version since 22 Oct, and read the native sign-in code for what 'cancelled' covers.
05:07: first counts on the new itch zips
- crew and derelict pings since 01:48Z, outside the US: title against title-guest, stop-seen, choices, crewad.
07:07: Hullbound 1.8 (code 9) for Play
- Play now first on the title card and the first stop at one minute, as on itch since 01:48Z. Build alone, stop Gradle after, put the aab and release notes in the Play kit.
09:07: Feedback Friday draft against today's game
- 30 Oct is the next real traffic. Read the r/incremental_games draft and make it true to the game as it is now (Play now, a stop in the first minute, the itch link and referrer).
11:07: Daily derelict, 27 Oct
- Run daily-host.sh into .daily-log/run-manual.out, then status and the Bluesky URL in meta.json.
13:07: itch page views against plays
- Read views and plays per itch page from my-games, to see whether the itch pages get looked at and then not played, or not looked at at all.
13:51: stills for Docent's illustrated clip
- The boss said do it. Find the crew-starves crew and their bio lines (the save or a fresh capture with each card open), then 8 to 10 gpt-image stills at 1080x1920: six portraits from those lines, the ship outside, a boarding, the empty hold. One batch, no reruns beyond a bad face. Claim JSON, publish under /media/, mail Docent.
15:07: itch counts on the new zips, afternoon
- Read events since 01:48Z: Play now against the title card, the first stop, choices, Derelict's Hullbound link. Act on whatever leaks.
17:07: can people find Hullbound by searching
- Search Console for /crew/ and the Play listing in Google results. If a search for the name finds nothing of ours, fix what's ours to fix.
19:11: an itch community post for Hullbound
- itch's Release Announcements board allows a post about your own game: needs the itch link, a short summary and one image or video; low-effort link posts get locked. Typical topic gets about 20-30 views, rarely a reply.
- Draft one in boss voice in app/store/ITCH-HULLBOUND.md, with the picture to embed, for the boss to post before rating opens on 31 Oct.
19:19: start speccing the next app
- The boss: "I think it's time to start speccing the next big thing".
- Re-read RULES on the next app and what scratch/ may hold, then read what's already in scratch/ and what the numbers from Bulkhead, Derelict and Hullbound say sells and what doesn't.
- Write the spec in scratch/ (not a build), with the factual questions for the boss batched at the end.
19:22: Play search checks for the next app
- The boss: "Why? Why waiting?" Nothing needed to wait; run check 1 now.
- Read Play search for a batch of narrow tool queries (chores people meet weekly), write each query's top results in scratch/2026-10-27-next-app.md, then open the app pages of any shelf that looks weak for installs and dates.
19:25: AI disclosure for the next app
- The boss: "We don't have to yell from the rooftop's it's an ai made app". Write it in FACTS.md, change the spec's rule and risk lines to match, and update the memory.
19:26: do new apps on a niche Play shelf get installs
- Six more searches. Each niche shelf is full of new, unrated apps from the same few app factories. Read their install counts to see whether being on page 1 of a niche search brings installs for a nobody (the channel test in RULES §7).
19:36: marketplaces that show new things
- The boss: "Do it". For each, what a newcomer gets in its first weeks, from the platform's own data where it has some: the Obsidian plugin list (public downloads per plugin), the Chrome Web Store, Home Assistant (HACS), Discord's app directory, Figma Community. Plus each one's rules on charging money, read from its own docs and dated.
19:48: paid tools Obsidian users pair with their notes
- The boss: "Do it". For about 40 paid apps and services people use alongside notes (reading, tasks, time, money, fitness, research, writing), count the Obsidian plugins for each and their downloads from the public stats. Where the plugin count or downloads are thin, read the forum for people asking for it. Write the gaps in scratch/2026-10-27-next-app.md.
19:54: what the free fantasy generators on Obsidian already do
- Boss: "That's just bulkhead again... make it better somehow... They all play fantasy. am I wrong?" Answered: mostly right. Sci-fi is about 2% of tabletop plugin downloads.
- Read the READMEs and open issues of Windrose, Town Forge, TTRPG Content Generator and Tavernus. What do they make, is it linked notes, what do users ask for, what's missing.
- Write it into scratch/2026-10-27-next-app.md, then commit and push.
19:56: do players carry characters between tabletop games
- Boss asks: do players bring characters from game to game, how many popular tabletops are there, how hard is it to port a character, does it port easily.
- Sources: the Roll20 / Orr Group quarterly reports for which systems people play, forum threads on converting characters (5e to PF2e and others), and character importer and converter tools (Obsidian plugin list, the web).
- Answer the boss with the numbers and links, and write it into scratch/2026-10-27-next-app.md.
21:07: plugin ideas Obsidian users asked for that nobody built
- The next app needs a lead that isn't tabletop. The Obsidian forum has a plugin-ideas category: what people ask a plugin to do.
- Pull this year's top plugin-idea topics (by replies and views), then check each against the plugin list (9,543) to see whether something already does it.
- Keep the ones that are asked for often, not built yet, and worth paying for. Write them into scratch/2026-10-27-next-app.md.
21:08: Hullbound since it went live on Play
- Crew starts, raids and account pings since 24 Oct 11:00Z (events.sh). Itch views, downloads and purchases for Hullbound, Bulkhead and Derelict.
- Look for anything that needs a fix or a reply: Android devices, crews starving, Shipwright buys.
23:07: do new pool apps get installs next to Pool Math
- Boss: "Is it worth to make something better than the next guy?" Answered: only against a big, poorly rated leader, and only if newcomers on that shelf still get installs.
- Play searches for pool chemistry terms (pool calculator, pool chemistry, pool water test, chlorine calculator, saltwater pool). For each app, read installs, rating, first-release date if shown, and updated date.
- Sort out apps released in 2025-26 and what installs they reached. Write it into scratch/2026-10-27-next-app.md.
Next
- Docent's three Hullbound clips are up and mailed (25 Oct). 1 Nov: send Docent a week of /hb counts (crew-from-hb, crew-start-from-hb). Same /media/ spec plus claim JSON; the speed-up is said in notes. 1 Nov: send Docent a week of /hb counts.
- 25 Oct after 11:07Z: the daily, if today's derelict is missing.
- DERELICT (AI Browser Game Jam 5, submitted 20 Oct): competition check today. Rating opens 31 Oct; never rate entries myself.
- HULLBOUND (main work), live on Google Play since 24 Oct. Waiting on the boss: - itch: (zips uploaded by the boss 25 Oct 17:31Z, checked) before 31 Oct 03:00Z: post the "Rooms have pictures now" devlog (press page step 6), put desk-rooms.png first in the Derelict screenshots, upload the Hullbound zip again (432,405: the haul said at the top, a count of boards from the crew page, and the Play line for Android browsers), and paste the Hullbound description from /press/hullbound/ (25 Oct: episodes, Shipwright and the Play line together). - Reddit drafts in app/store/REDDIT-ANDROID.md (r/AndroidGaming [DEV], r/MobileGames). The next Reddit ask is not before 27 Oct. - Phone: check that Shipwright stays hidden after buying; uninstall com.bananafestdestiny.hullbound.test; turn off wireless debugging. - Offered, not yet decided: move the deck wall into the first session; count a Bulkhead purchase as Shipwright.
- Hullbound watch, each day: Android installs from strangers (events.sh distinct phone-app browsers above 1); crew-from-hb, crew-start-from-hb, crew-play-dock; tale-* pings; writer spend in crew-stats.sh against MONTHLY_CAP $10.
- Feedback Friday on r/incremental_games, 30 Oct, sidebar first (Rule 1D).
- Hullbound 1.7 (code 8) uploaded to Production by the boss, 26 Oct. pt-BR listing: dropped.
- Uploaded by the boss 27 Oct 01:48Z (checked): derelict-itch 317,278 and hullbound-itch 432,614. Read title-guest-itch against title-itch, stop-seen-*, choice-*, crewad from 27 Oct 01:48Z.
- 31 Oct 03:00Z, jam rating opens: tell the boss that rating other entries lifts Derelict in the "Most Karma" sort (forum posts, not docs). I never rate.
- BULKHEAD (upkeep): the daily keeps running. The boss sets the itch price from $12 to $9. Build the 1.20 upload round (plan/2026-10-22.md Next) only when the boss has an upload slot.
- 27 Oct: re-read sittings.sh (as in plan/2026-10-22.md Next) only if there are 20 or more web sittings.
Actual
Note, 00:47: mail check
- One from docent (thread cider3-more-hullbound, 4 of 6, needs_reply no): the three Hullbound clips are cut and queued with /hb on the end card; disclosure on frame where the capture differs from the game, else in the caption; Instagram (@vibeciders) now carries only Hullbound and Bulkhead; Hullbound stays off TikTok as docent's own call. No reply needed; moved to mail/read. The 1 Nov /hb counts to docent stay on the list; watch crew-starves.
01:07: are the two zips up on itch
- Not yet: itch still has the 26 Oct 15:42Z files (Derelict 317,102, Hullbound 432,427).
- Meanwhile I watched /hb (302 to /crew/?from=hb, where Docent's clips send people) as a new phone visitor for 65 s: no stop. The ship docks at the start of a tick, so FIRST_STOP 1 showed at two minutes (and 3 at four). Set to 0. tsc clean, 244 tests pass, deployed. The same check on the live page now shows "Docked at Quarry Nine" with Take Kofi aboard / Say no to Kofi at 63 s, on the first screen (scratchpad hb-stop.png).
- hullbound-itch.zip rebuilt: 432,614 bytes at /press/hullbound/, replacing 432,610. Derelict's stays 317,278.
- Finished 01:20
01:49: check the boss's itch uploads
- itch API: Derelict has derelict-itch (9).zip, 317,278 bytes, html, 01:48Z; Hullbound has hullbound-itch (16).zip, 432,614 bytes, html, 01:47Z. Each on its own page, sizes match /press/. From now: title-guest-itch against title-itch, stop-seen-*, choice-*, crewad.
- Finished 01:49
02:05: how play went on 26 Oct (boss asked)
- 26 Oct 00:00Z to now, bots dropped. Outside the US, two browsers played: GB on itch (keys) and the Brazil app player.
- Derelict: GB on itch, about 23 practice runs (19 out, 4 dead; most at the 50 or 100 score marks) and 2 dailies (1 dead, 1 walked out). Brazil raided the daily from the app for their crew and brought it home.
- Hullbound: Brazil came back 8-24 h after their last visit and fed the crew with that daily raid (third day in a row). One itch start from HK saw the title card and left, before the new zip went up. US pings are the boss: 6 Google sign-in cancels on the app, then an email sign-up.
- Finished 02:05
Note, 02:47: mail check
- One from docent (thread cider3-illustrated-clip, 1 of 6): an experiment, one Hullbound clip with image-model stills (crew portraits from the game's own bio lines, ship outside, a boarding, the empty hold) cut with a real capture of a crew starving. Reads written down beforehand, judged on /hb from 1 Nov.
- Replied (needs_reply no): yes in principle, but image generation needs the boss's go-ahead in this conversation (shared bill), so I'm asking. If yes: a fresh capture with each crew card open so name and bio are on the frame, then 8 to 10 stills at 1080x1920 from exactly those lines, and a claim JSON. Moved to mail/read.
03:07: is Google sign-in broken on the Play app
- Not broken. Google sign-in succeeded on the app on 22, 23 and 24 Oct, including twice for the Brazil player. The cancels come mostly from a US OnePlus 8 Pro on Android 11 with an odd build, seen only on 23 Oct (95 crew pings, when test builds were going up) and 26 Oct 08-09Z (16, the day 1.7 went to Production). That fits Play's pre-launch test robot opening the Google sheet and backing out, not the boss.
- So the US app traffic is three devices: a Pixel 9a on Android 17 (22-23 Oct, the boss's phone), a Pixel 6 on Android 12 (24 Oct 07Z, likely the review) and that OnePlus. I told the boss on 27 Oct the 26 Oct US pings were theirs; they were the robot. Corrected in chat.
- Finished 03:07
05:07: first counts on the new itch zips
- Since 01:48Z (to 05:07Z): no itch play of either game. One US browser came in by /hb at 02Z and started a crew (crew-from-hb, start-from-hb), the first /hb arrival I've seen; nothing after the start.
- With the itch frame quiet I checked Derelict's zip at 820 x 760 for the jam (rating opens 31 Oct 03:00Z). Served from localhost it said "Today's ship hasn't come in yet": a test artefact, since the zip reads ships from the real site everywhere but localhost. From 127.0.0.1 it shows the title card with yesterday's ship before 11:07Z, with Board the ship inside the frame. Nothing to fix.
- Finished 05:08
07:07: Hullbound 1.8 (code 9) for Play
- Built alone (nothing else running), exit 0; Gradle stopped and the leftover Java killed by PID. hullbound-1.8.aab, 5,563,265 bytes, version 1.8 (code 9). Inside: the title card has Play now above the account form, and the crew JS has the first stop at 0.
- Play kit (/press/hullbound/play/) now offers 1.8 (1.7 removed) with English release notes, 192 of 500. The pt-BR notes are gone with the dropped listing. Deployed; the aab serves at full size.
- For the boss: Production → Create new release → upload → paste notes → Save and publish.
- Finished 07:08
09:07: Feedback Friday draft against today's game
- app/store/REDDIT-ANDROID.md: the comment now says the first stop comes a minute after you set out, and the first feedback question asks about what comes after it. The rest still matches the game.
- Counts since the itch uploads (01:48Z to 09:08Z): no itch play at all. The only game events are the one US /hb arrival from 02Z (crew-from-hb, crew-start-from-hb, a guest that saw the dock, then an account). Night hours for most of itch's traffic; read again after the daily.
- Finished 09:08
11:07: Daily derelict, 27 Oct
- daily-host.sh exit 0; it committed "Daily derelict 2026-10-27" itself. npm run status: all 31 clear, including the /daily/2026-10-27/ link preview.
- meta.json posts.bluesky is set (a bsky.app post URL on the account). Nothing else posted or deployed.
- Finished 11:12
13:07: itch page views against plays
- itch's all-time counts now: Derelict 107 views, Hullbound 68 views, 2 downloads, 0 purchases. On 26 Oct they were 102 and 67. So about one Hullbound page view a day: the pages aren't being found, which a better first screen can't fix.
- Both pages come up in itch's own search by name (Hullbound first, Derelict sixth). Hullbound is no longer on the first page of newest idle or colony-sim, six days after it went up.
- The 25 Oct Derelict devlog ("Rooms have pictures now") was never posted: Derelict's devlog has only "Play a ship you drew". Hullbound has three, the last being the Google Play one.
- Devlogs go out in itch's digests and feeds (LEARNED). So I added a short Hullbound devlog draft for the Play now change to app/store/ITCH-HULLBOUND.md, for the boss, along with the Derelict one, to post before rating opens on 31 Oct.
- Finished 13:07
13:51: stills for Docent's illustrated clip
- The boss said "Do it" (FACTS). The 25 Oct crew-starves save is gone, so only Juno Haddad's name was known. Added a cast mode to scripts/media-hullbound-3.mjs (death, with the crew list held on screen before and after) and shot a new take on the live page: /media/hullbound-crew-starves-cast-2026-10-27.mp4, 28.5 s, with a claim JSON, first in /media/index.json.
- In this take nobody starved. Lin Haddad, hurt in two earlier raids, died in a raid with the hold empty ("Lin Haddad died, in the raid."), 6 of 7 alive. Seven crew: Bram Sato is a passenger taken aboard at Low Harrow.
- 10 stills with gpt-image-1.5, medium, 1024x1536: seven portraits from each person's own line, the ship outside, a boarding, the empty hold. Juno Duarte was made alone first as a test and kept, so 10 images in all, about 1,975 output tokens each, none thrown away. Cropped and scaled to 1080x1920 JPEG in /media/hullbound-illustrated-2026-10-27/ with a claim.json (model, prompts, what is drawn and what is real). The script that read the key, app/scripts/zz-ill.mjs, is deleted.
- Deployed. The mp4, both JSONs and the stills are live (200, sizes match local). Mailed docent (mail/out/docent-illustrated-stills.md, thread 3 of 6) with the names and lines, the links and the change from hunger to a raid.
- Finished 13:59
15:07: itch counts on the new zips, afternoon
- Since 01:48Z, still no Hullbound play on itch (no crew-*-itch at all), so nothing yet on Play now.
- Derelict on itch: one GB player at 14Z, 10 practice boards and the daily (died on it), 10 practice runs out. 0 crewad clicks. Screenshot of a live practice end screen at 820 x 760: the Start a Hullbound crew button sits at 310 px, above the fold, under Copy result. So it was seen and passed over by someone who came for Derelict, not hidden.
- Android at 14Z: the US OnePlus 8 Pro on Android 11 again (13 pings: title, Play now, a practice and a daily raid, reminders on, settings, a Google cancel), plus views of /privacy/ and /crew/delete/. That robot shows up when a build goes to Play, so the 1.8 upload is likely in review.
- Finished 15:08
17:07: can people find Hullbound by searching
- Search Console: /crew/ and /derelict/ are indexed, but last crawled 21 Oct, before the voyage, Shipwright and Play changes. /hb is unknown to Google (it's a short link that redirects, so that's fine). The only queries with impressions in two weeks are Bulkhead's (space station map generator, spaceship deck plans), nothing for Hullbound.
- WebSearch for "Hullbound space crew survival game" and for "Hullbound" with the itch name finds nothing of ours: the name is six days old.
- Resubmitted the sitemap (Google had last read it 24 Oct; this is a hint, not an index request) and sent /crew/, /derelict/ and /press/hullbound/ to Bing (3 accepted).
- The /crew/ title and description already say what it is ("a space crew survival game in real time", free in the browser and on Android). Nothing there to change.
- Finished 17:08
Note, 18:50: is there a second Android player
- Android crew pings since 24 Oct by day, country and phone: Brazil (24, 25, 26 Oct; the one install), US Pixel 6 (24 Oct, review), US OnePlus 8 Pro on Android 11 (26 and 27 Oct, the test robot), and a Samsung Galaxy A23 on Android 14 from the Philippines on 24 Oct.
- The Philippines phone played 08:32 to 08:36Z on 24 Oct: title, Play now, an account, reminders on, a practice and a daily raid, the privacy and how-to pages. The app went public about 11:10Z that day, so this was before anyone could install it: Play's human review. No second player yet.
19:11: an itch community post for Hullbound
- Read the Release Announcements board rules (itch link, short summary, one image or video; low-effort posts locked; no vote asks). Recent topics: median about 23 views, almost no replies. Small, but free and it's the last unused itch channel before 31 Oct.
- Drafted the post in app/store/ITCH-HULLBOUND.md for the boss: boss voice, discloses "made by a vibecoded app", pictures desk-crew.png and desk-stop.png.
- Finished 19:11
19:19: start speccing the next app
- Re-read RULES §1, §2 and §7: speccing is allowed (Hullbound is for sale), building isn't, and the channel has to be proven and written in FACTS.md before committing.
- Wrote scratch/2026-10-27-next-app.md. Seven weeks of numbers say visitors, not price, were the limit, and posting doesn't scale for a nobody. So the rule is: a tool, not a game; found through store search; free once, paid for repeat use; no AI art and no AI-hostile hobby; reusing the Play pipeline from Hullbound.
- The first check works: the Play search page can be read (no install counts on it). "shift work calendar" is crowded with ten apps rated 4.1 to 4.9, so it fails.
- Next: about 15 more queries, then the low reviews of the ones that pass.
- Finished 19:20
19:22: Play search checks for the next app
- Six Play searches (US). Two shelves are weak: pool chemistry and chicken egg trackers. Four are held by well-rated apps or big platforms.
- Play's app pages are too big for the page reader, so a script read installs, update dates and the shown reviews for the five top pool apps (5K+ to 100K+ installs).
- Pool passes: owners pay (a membership, $1.99 a month for a cleaning business, $7.99 to $39.99 unlocks), and the low reviews name the gap: the log behind a subscription, forced accounts, a video ad on every use, confusing entry, subscriptions that won't cancel. Written up with quotes in scratch/2026-10-27-next-app.md, with the risks (dose accuracy, the season, how pool people see AI-made apps).
- Finished 19:24
19:25: AI disclosure for the next app
- FACTS.md has the boss's words. In the spec, rule 4 and the risk list now say the listing and posts don't open with AI, and a platform's own AI question still gets a true answer. Hullbound and Derelict copy is unchanged.
- Finished 19:26
19:26: do new apps on a niche Play shelf get installs
- Six more shelves: each has one to three established apps and a dozen new ones from the same few app factories.
- Install counts of 16 new or small apps: most have 0 to 50. Poolistry has 1K+, a sourdough starter tracker has 5K+, and two more have 500+. So page 1 of a niche search is easy to reach and brings almost nothing by itself. Play search is open to a nobody but thin, and a weak shelf isn't proof of a channel.
- Next: find what the 1K+ newcomers did differently (Poolistry and the sourdough tracker), before trusting any shelf.
- Finished 19:26
Note, 19:27: what the Play breakouts did
- The sourdough tracker (5K+) uses our exact model: pay once ($12.99), offline, no account. Poolistry (1K+) gets nothing from its own website. Web search for these tools is spam and a dozen iOS clones.
- Conclusion in scratch/2026-10-27-next-app.md: the shape is right, and a stranger pays for it, but store search alone won't pick ours out. Next: reach that doesn't depend on store search (marketplaces that show new things; Docent's video channel).
19:36: marketplaces that show new things
- Obsidian, from its own public data: about 3,700 plugins added in three months, now unreviewed. Median downloads for a plugin one to three months old: 243 (top tenth 2,196+). That's several times what a new Play app on a niche shelf gets (0 to 50).
- Its developer policies (read 27 Oct) allow "Payment is required for full access" if the README says so. Our itch-purchase check from Shipwright would be the money path. Submitting needs a public GitHub repo and a PR from an account: an ask for the boss, once there's a pick.
- Chrome Web Store, HACS, Discord and Figma not checked yet; carried to the next entry.
- Finished 19:37
Note, 19:38: Chrome Web Store and paid Obsidian plugins
- Chrome Web Store search shows no user counts and no "new" list, so it can't be measured from outside. Left open, no evidence either way.
- Of 9,543 Obsidian plugins, 36 mention paying, and some of those still get downloads (Colorful Folders 13,756, Bases Power Pack 2,241, Kanban for Professionals 1,547). Bases views are the hottest new surface (Dynamic Views: 82,267 in one to three months). Next: what users ask Bases for.
Note, 19:39: Bases requests are already answered
- The forum's top Bases requests (calendar, groups, graph, Kanban order) are already free plugins with tens of thousands of downloads (Calendar Bases 127,465; Kanban Bases View 41,898). 214 plugins add Bases views. Ruled out as a paid product.
- Obsidian stays the best channel found so far. The product is still open: the next step is paid tools Obsidian users pair with their vaults that have no good plugin.
19:48: paid tools Obsidian users pair with their notes
- Of about 90 paid services, 17 have no Obsidian plugin (YNAB, Fitbit, MyFitnessPal...), but the forum barely mentions them either: no demand, not a gap.
- Found while counting: Obsidian's game-master corner is big (105 plugins, 1.43M downloads), and generators do well there (TTRPG Content Generator 53,429; Town Forge 5,191; Tavernus 1,482). None makes ships, stations or derelicts. Bulkhead's generator and story tables, as linked room notes, are the lead. Its failure was reach, which this channel answers. Risks listed in scratch/2026-10-27-next-app.md.

19:54: what the free fantasy generators on Obsidian already do
- Answered the boss: mostly right. Sci-fi is about 2% of tabletop plugin downloads on Obsidian (about 26K of 1.19M), and Bulkhead had about 50 people at the pay button with no sales.
- Fantasy is covered for free: Windrose (5,198) generates and stocks dungeons, Town Forge (5,191) makes towns with a note per place, Tavernus does taverns, and TTRPG Content Generator (53,429) does names and loot. The one gap, written room keys as notes, has a single 104-download plugin.
- Dropped Bulkhead in Obsidian as the next app. Written into scratch/2026-10-27-next-app.md.

19:56: do players carry characters between tabletop games
- D&D is about 59% of groups on Groupfinder (2026). Pathfinder is a distant second, and players list 2.7 systems on average.
- Characters move within one system: organized play, the same GM, the same setting. Across systems it's rare and done by rebuilding. There's no automatic converter.

21:07: plugin ideas Obsidian users asked for that nobody built
- The past year's plugin ideas are thin: the top one has 12 posts and 1,179 views. The all-time top asks (Gingko-style writing, PDF export, Kobo, Outlook, grammar, timelines, audio timestamps) all have plugins now, many with 100K+ downloads.
- No unanswered demand on Obsidian. Written into scratch/2026-10-27-next-app.md.

21:08: Hullbound since it went live on Play
- itch: Hullbound 68 views, 2 downloads, 0 purchases. Derelict 111 views (jam). Bulkhead 48 views, 5 downloads, 0 purchases. Free packs: 19 views and 3 downloads, and 12 views and 1 download.
- Events since 24 Oct 11:00Z, by day: 159, 89, 136, 373. Page views: 56, 63, 81, 119. Today is the busiest day since Play.
- Hullbound phone app: 140 events from 2 browsers. Desktop: 41 events from 6. Derelict desktop: 692 events from 4 browsers (jam players running practice again and again: 123 boards, 110 outs).
- Android Google sign-in: 2 worked, 8 came back "cancelled", meaning the picker was closed. It works, so no fix. Who closed it (the boss's phone, Google's test robot or a player) can't be told from the counts.
- Finished 21:08
Note, 22:11: who the Android app agents are
- The boss asked whether one of the 2 Android agents is a reviewer. I split app events by agent (labels only, no agent strings kept), 22-27 Oct: - Android 11 with a Chrome 90 web view (2021), US: 23, 26 and 27 Oct, on review days (27 Oct was 1.8). It accounts for 23 of the Google sign-in cancels. Google's test device, not a person. - Android 12 with Chrome 91, US: 24 Oct only. Also a test device. - Android 14, Philippines: 24 Oct only, 21 events, one crew start. Not back. - Android 16, Brazil: 24-26 Oct (75, 52, 11 events). The real player. Nothing since 26 Oct. - Android 17, US: 22-23 Oct, before launch. The boss's phone.
- So since launch it's still one real Android player, and they've been quiet since 26 Oct.
23:07: do new pool apps get installs next to Pool Math
- 149 apps from 10 Play searches, 96 of them pool or spa. Release dates come from each page's data.
- About 33 pool-care tools were released in 2026: most have 0-50 installs, three have 100+, and PoolsKey (camera strip reader) has 500+. In 2025 two reached 5K+: Pool Pilot, which reads any brand's strip from a photo, and Swim University, which brought its own site's audience.
- Better on its own gets 0-500. Written into scratch/2026-10-27-next-app.md.
