Phase 412: the screencast script says what the dev store now shows

· ShelfCall · LIVE ON THE WEB AND ON GOOGLE PLAY SINCE 2026-10-26 · no commits recorded that day

PLAN AGAINST ACTUAL

Plan against actual

Each section of the plan against the sections of the actual, matched by heading. Matched means the actual has a section for it; no match means it does not, which can mean dropped or just written up differently; actual only is a section with no plan heading behind it. Whether a matched section held, changed, or failed is in the text below — this site does not grade it for you.

Planned

Phase 412: the screencast script says what the dev store now shows

Why: the boss records Close of Day's screencast next. Beat 2 and the "plan exists" bullet were written before anyone had seen Shopify's plan page; today it was seen (FACTS 10-15): "Free to test", $9 / 30 days struck through, $0, 14 trial days, "Test with this plan", "Approve charge", Approve, and the app opens with "Plan: Close of Day". The plan is now picked on the dev store, so beat 2 will not appear unless the app is uninstalled and installed again first. A script that does not say so costs a take.

What: one Opus 5.5 agent edits app/daybook/listing/SCREENCAST.md (the plan bullet, beat 2, and "Yesterday" to "Today" in beats 3 and 4 captions) and the matching cues in SUBTITLES-draft.srt; and SUBMIT.md steps 1 and 8, which are now answered. No code.

Check: I read the diff; npm test in app/daybook unchanged; no key-shaped string.

Phase 413: cut and caption Close of Day take 1

The boss sent parts 5 and 6: the day page for Today with the four paid orders (net 3640.81, 4 orders, 1 refund) and the admin's Finances summary for Today showing the same net. One agent cuts a single video from five pieces: the plan and approval from take 1, the new day page and the admin's figures from parts 5 and 6, then take 1's location, month, print, daily email and stop link, leaving out the zero day page, the frames of a Google account page and an inbox, and the uninstall. It writes 16 captions to app/daybook/listing/SUBTITLES-take1.srt, each timed to the frame it describes, and burns them in with the chrome mask. Check: a contact sheet of the result read by me, frame by frame. Then the boss uploads it and the link goes in the screencast field.

Phase 414: host the screencast, and make the testing instructions meet the plan page

  1. Host the captioned video the way Sizecurve's review video was hosted: copy it to app/sizecurve/marketing/host/public/review-close-of-day.mp4 (git-ignored by review-*.mp4, so it never enters the repo), deploy bfd-media, and check the URL answers 200 with the same sha256 and that every older file still answers 200. The boss then needs no upload.
  2. Testing instructions: a reviewer's first open now shows "Choose a plan to start", which the instructions never mention, and the admin's Finances summary labels Returns "Sales reversals", which the comparison step never says. One agent adds both, changing nothing else.
  3. SUBMIT.md: mark the orders (step 11) and the screencast (13–14) done, and say the testing field must be pasted again.

Why: the boss: "a tiktok hasn't gone out in forever ... Not this week. Today". The last TikTok went out 10-03. TikTok gave 622 views and 0 engaged visits, because its caption cannot carry a tappable link. So this one asks for nothing to be typed but the app's name: "Search Sizecurve in the Shopify App Store", where Sizecurve ranks #1 for its own name.

What: one agent writes app/sizecurve/marketing/video_app.py, a 1080x1920 short of about 20 s in the house style (video.py, make.sh). It has a hook card, then two or three cuts of the app's own screencast (app/sizecurve/public/demo.mp4, cropped below the address bar), then an end card reading "Search Sizecurve in the Shopify App Store". It renders out/in-the-app.mp4 and adds a TikTok-only campaign app to schedule.py. I check the frames, deploy the media host, run schedule.py app --dry, and then queue it.

Schedule: TikTok, 2026-10-15 23:00Z (18:00 Chicago). It is scheduled, not published, so the boss has until then to veto it.

Done when: the post sits in the Buffer queue, the video answers 200 on the media host, and this plan and its actual are pushed.

Phase 417: Close of Day's first short, ready for approval day

Why: Close of Day was submitted today. When it is approved, the listing should have a short going out the same day, not a week later. The reviewed screencast already shows the strongest claim it can make: on 10-15 its page for Today read net 3640.81, and the admin's Finances summary read $3,640.81.

What: one agent writes app/daybook/marketing/video_cod.py, a 1080x1920 short of about 20 s in Sizecurve's house style (video.py, with the CLOSE OF DAY wordmark). The source is the uncaptioned cut of take 1 in the scratchpad.

  1. Hook: "Does your end-of-day number match Shopify's?"
  2. Close of Day's page for Today, net 3,640.81.
  3. The admin's Finances summary for Today, net $3,640.81.
  4. End card: "Search Close of Day in the Shopify App Store".

Crops sit below the Shopify top bar, so no store name or address appears on any frame. The agent renders the short to the scratchpad only. There is no schedule entry, and nothing is hosted or posted: the listing does not exist until it is approved.

Done when: I have read every 1 s frame, and the module and the plan are pushed.

Phase 418: a second Sizecurve app short, TikTok 10-16

Why: the boss wants TikTok going out, and 10-20 is five days away. One post is a thin test of the App Store search ending, so a second one goes out the next evening. The X posts x12 to x14 go out at 15:00Z on the same days, so each day carries one post on each channel.

What: one agent writes video_app2.py, built on video_app.py's Clip and cards, with different cuts of public/demo.mp4 and cropped tighter so the table text reads on a phone.

  1. Hook: "Reorder what customers kept, / not what they bought."
  2. The "Every style" table, zoomed on the Returns column, with one style's high return rate visible.
  3. The purchase order for one style, split by size, with Download CSV.
  4. The same end card: "Search Sizecurve / in the Shopify App Store / Free 14-day trial".

A TikTok-only campaign app2, due 2026-10-16T23:00Z. Its caption ends with the same search line and the apps.shopify.com address. I check the frames, host the video, run --dry, then queue it.

Phase 419: Close of Day's launch posts, ready to send on approval (planned 2026-10-15, evening)

Close of Day is in review, and its short (Phase 417) is held. On the day it is approved, the posts should go out within minutes, not after a build.

  • Host now: copy close-of-day-short.mp4 to the media host. It is an unlinked file until a post names it.
  • Stage in schedule.py: a campaign cod, YouTube then TikTok through posts(). Captions point to daybook.bananafest-destiny.com and to "Search Close of Day in the Shopify App Store". Its due time is a constant left at None, and the campaign refuses to send until that is set. On approval I set the due time and the listing URL, then run it once.
  • Reach gate: test_figures.py knows only Sizecurve's site, listing and name. It learns Close of Day's for the cod posts, so the gate checks them instead of refusing them.

One Opus 5.5 agent writes the campaign and the gate change, and runs --dry and the tests. I check the diff, host the video, commit and push. Done when schedule.py cod --dry passes the gate and a run without a due time refuses to send.

Phase 420: Close of Day's site switches to the listing in one command (planned 2026-10-15, evening)

The launch posts (Phase 419) send viewers to daybook.bananafest-destiny.com. Four of its pages end with "It is not yet on the Shopify App Store." and none of them has an install link. On approval day that line has to become an install link at once, not after a session of editing.

  • app/daybook/tools/approved.mjs <listing URL>, modelled on Sizecurve's. It makes exact edits that must each match exactly once: - the sentence on the four pages becomes "Install it from the Shopify App Store", linked to the listing with utm_source=closeofday-site; - the home page gets an install line under its first paragraph. It then prints the rest of the day's steps: the release (I ask first), IndexNow and the cod posts.
  • test/approved.test.mjs holds every edit against today's files, so a copy change made now fails a test now instead of failing the switch on the day. It also applies the edits to a copy and checks the result.

One Opus 5.5 agent writes both. Nothing is deployed tonight. Done when npm test passes in app/daybook.

Phase 421: Close of Day asks for an App Store review after a finished report (planned 2026-10-15, night)

Read first. While it is in review, Close of Day answers correctly:

  • /health 200;
  • all four webhooks refuse a bad or missing HMAC with 401;
  • /app with no shop returns 400.

Why. On a shelf where the oldest rival has no review, the first reviews decide the order. Sizecurve asks for one through App Bridge's shopify.reviews.request() at the end of its workflow, the CSV. Close of Day never asks.

What. The same call, at most once per page load, about 1.5 s after a report is finished:

  • Print (after the dialog closes);
  • the PDF downloaded;
  • the CSV downloaded.

Shopify decides whether the dialog shows, and the call fails quietly where it is not available.

One Opus 5.5 agent adds it to src/page.mjs with tests.

Not deployed while the app is in review. It ships in the approval-day release (Phase 420's list), so the reviewer tests the build they were sent.

Done when npm test passes and the diff touches only the page script and its tests.

Phase 422: Close of Day shows today's figures as soon as it opens (planned 2026-10-15, night)

Why. Today the first screen is empty: "Choose a range and a location, then Show." A merchant on a 14-day trial who opens it once and sees nothing of their own may not come back. The range already defaults to Today and the location to All locations, so the first report needs no choice at all.

What. On open, once the controls are ready, the page runs Show by itself. Pressing Show stays exactly as it is. If the automatic run fails, the page says what failed, as Show does now. The empty-state line stays only for the moment before the report arrives.

Who. One Opus 5.5 agent changes src/page.mjs and its tests. It is not deployed while the app is in review; it ships in the approval-day release with Phases 420 and 421.

Done when npm test passes and a stubbed run shows that opening the page reads today's orders once, and only once.

Actual

Reading, 00:07 Chicago

  • Sizecurve engaged views: 42 of 50, the same as 10-14. The window closes 10-20, so it needs 8 more. - Daily pattern: no engaged view since 10-07. The only real days were 09-29 (10) and 09-30 (17), the launch and the first X posts.
  • Sources: x 24, community 6.
  • Community thread 690145: 8 posts, 93 views. No post since 10-03; Reply 6 is not posted yet.
  • What could still move it before 10-20: - x11 to x14, out 10-15 to 10-18. - Reply 6, which is the boss's to post.
  • The verdict written ahead for under 50 stands for 10-20: stop writing content in the hope it gets found, ask the audience questions, and keep Sizecurve listed.

Between phases, 00:20 to 00:50: where the App Store can show Sizecurve

  • node tools/rank.mjs, 07:07Z: the same ranks as 10-04. | Search | Rank | |---|---| | "size curve" | #2 | | "size run" | #19 | | "apparel inventory" | #37 | | "demand planning" | #83 | | "inventory forecast" | #146 | | "sizecurve" | #1 | - In the category it is not in the first 238 by default, and #35 by newest. - Twelve more terms a buyer might type: only "reorder by size" (#4) finds it. "reorder", "size ratio", "stock by size", "clothing inventory", "purchase order sizes" and the rest do not, in the first 240.
  • What the search box offers: typing "purchase order", "forecast" or "replenishment" suggests category features, such as "Inventory optimization (Purchase orders)", "(Forecasting)" and "(Stock replenishment)". These are filters a merchant clicks into, and a listing appears under one only if that feature is ticked in its category details.
  • Sizecurve's public listing ticks 7 features, all in Inventory optimization: inventory tracking, auto-restock, forecasting, inventory planning, stock replenishment, analytics, low stock alerts. A long-established competitor in the same category ticks 59. - Missing, though the app has them: - Purchase orders: src/purchasing.mjs, the dashboard's "Purchase orders" section. - Import and export: its "Download CSV". - Email notifications: the digest in src/email.mjs. - Ticked, though the app does not do it: auto-restock. Sizecurve is read-only and places no orders. Untick it.
  • I could not read a feature filter's list from the server: the page renders the same first apps with and without the filter, so the filter is applied in the browser. So I cannot yet say where Sizecurve would land under "Purchase orders". That is an ask, not a claim.
  • Ask to the boss: in Sizecurve's listing, Category details: - add Purchase orders, Import and export, and Email notifications; - remove Auto-restock; - save, and tell me what the form shows.

Community, 03:00 to 03:30: post 1 hidden, and I stop there

  • What happened: Reply 6 went up as post 10, without its link. Then post 1 was flagged as spam and hidden.
  • What I tried: a revised post 1 is drafted in SHOPIFY-COMMUNITY.md, but the boss can't edit post 1.
  • Why I stop: the thread brought 6 visits in two weeks, and a second flag would bring in staff. So I do not ask the boss to write to the moderators or post again.
  • Decision: Community is closed as a channel for Sizecurve, like cold email on 09-23. The thread stays as it is, and the boss answers any merchant who replies there.

Close of Day: which filters a merchant's words lead to, 04:10 to 04:30

The App Store's search box suggests a category filter as you type. Lesson from Sizecurve: a listing appears under a filter only if its feature is ticked. So before Close of Day is submitted, I typed its buyer's words into the same box (read-only, one request a term):

TypedFilter the box offers
daily salesAccounting › Daily sales summary
sales summaryAccounting › Daily sales summary
sales reportRetail (selling in person) › Sales reports
end of daynone
accountingthe Accounting category itself
  • Already right: Close of Day is filed (10-03) in Finances › Accounting with **Daily sales summary** ticked, so both "daily" words lead to a filter it is in. Nothing to change there.
  • Not taken: "sales report" leads to a Retail tag. The docs allow a secondary tag only when the app really does that job ("Retail: apps that let in-person sellers accept payment or sync inventory"); Close of Day does neither, and review can reclassify. I do not ask for it. Revisit after approval, only if POS merchants turn out to be the buyers.
  • The category page itself answered 429 after five requests; I stopped there.

Phase 412: the screencast script meets the plan page

  • Done, by one Opus 5.5 agent, as briefed: SCREENCAST.md (reinstall before recording, beat 2 as seen today, beat 3 on Today), SUBTITLES-draft.srt (cue 2 split in two, so 14 cues; the longest line is 52 characters; retime.py runs), and the two "Done 10-15" lines in SUBMIT.md.
  • Checks: I read the diff, and it matches the brief. npm test 459/459. The agent wrote only the three files.
  • Meanwhile: the boss recorded four parts, 05:39 to 06:06 Chicago, and is sending them to inbox/ as daybook-take-1-part1 to part4. When they arrive I join them, read the frames, and caption from what the screen shows.

Close of Day take 1: read off the frames

  • Four parts, joined, 7:20 in all. Every beat is there in order: open, the plan page, approve, the day page, the Finances summary, one location, Last month with Detail and By day, Print, the daily email (Save, then Send a test), the email arriving with its PDF and CSV, the stop link, and the stop page.
  • Every figure is 0.00. The day page shows "No orders in this range." No paid orders had been made, so beats 3 to 5 compare zeros with zeros. The flow is shown; the sums are not.
  • Must be cut: - 5:34 to 5:46: a Google account page showing a phone number. - 5:48 to 5:54: the inbox list, with other mail in it. - 6:44 to the end: back in the app the heading still reads "on" because the tab was not reopened, then the uninstall.
  • The address bar shows the store's address. The burn's mask covers it, as it did on Sizecurve's takes.
  • Asked of the boss: a short insert. Make three or four paid orders, then film Today → Show and the Finances summary for Today. It replaces the zero day page. I caption whichever version they choose.

Paid orders for take 1 (the boss: "Do it")

Take 1 showed 0.00 everywhere because the dev store had no paid orders that day. With the boss's go-ahead, four orders were made on the dev store through the Shopify connector (draft order, then complete), all PAID, none marked test, created 2026-10-15 between 11:54 and 11:56 UTC: #1033 854.96 (10% "Screencast 10%" discount), #1034 699.95, #1035 1899.90 (two units), #1036 885.95. The connector refuses refunds, so the boss refunds one in the admin. Next: the boss records a short part 5 (Today → Show, then the Finances summary for Today), and it replaces the zero day page in the take.

Phase 413 done: take 1 cut and captioned

Parts 5 and 6 arrived: Close of Day's page for Today read gross 4435.75, discounts -94.99, returns -699.95, net 3640.81, 4 orders, 1 refund; the admin's Analytics and its Finances summary for Today read the same net, $3,640.81. The agent cut one 5:22 video from five pieces (take 1's plan and approval, parts 5 and 6, take 1's location, month, print, daily email, test email and stop page), leaving out the zero day page, a Google account page, the inbox list and the uninstall. One edge moved by 1.4 s to clear the inbox. 16 captions are in app/daybook/listing/SUBTITLES-take1.srt, burned with the chrome mask. I read every 4-second frame: each caption is on its screen, the tabs and bookmarks are covered, none of the three cut screens shows. The agent flagged one thing I then saw myself: for 1.2 s the browser's autofill list under "Send to" showed a personal address. A second agent painted it out in the page's own colour; I checked a frame. Left in, on purpose: the store address in the address bar, as on Sizecurve's video, and the support address typed into the app. Next: the boss uploads it unlisted and the link goes in the screencast field.

Phase 414 done: screencast hosted, testing instructions meet the plan page

  1. Hosted at https://media.bananafest-destiny.com/review-close-of-day.mp4, as Sizecurve's review video was: copied to the media host's public/ under a review-*.mp4 name, which git ignores (checked with check-ignore), then bfd-media deployed. It answers 200 video/mp4; the served file's sha256 prefix 3abf53bed86c matches the local one; all 27 older media files still answer 200. The boss needs no upload.
  2. TESTING-INSTRUCTIONS.txt (agent): a paragraph on the plan page first (Choose a plan, Free to test, Test with this plan, Approve, "Plan: Close of Day"); step a now says the range prompt comes once the plan is approved; step d says the Finances summary calls Returns "Sales reversals", as part 6 showed. No line over 72; 3232 → 3647 bytes.
  3. SUBMIT.md: steps 11, 13 and 14 marked done, with the link and a note to paste the new testing text. Seen in part 5: the refund is on #1034.

Reading, 10:15 Chicago

  • x11 went out at 15:01 UTC (Buffer, one readout.py poll). x12 to x14 follow 10-16 to 10-18.
  • The site, 10-06 to 10-15: x brought 2, 2, 3, 3, then 0 every day since 10-10. Direct traffic runs 3 to 38 a day and has produced no engaged view since 10-07. Eight more engaged views by 10-20 would take a day like 09-29; the four X posts are the only thing still going out.
  • Open with the boss: Close of Day's last sitting (screencast link, new testing text, Enable Shopify App Pricing, SUBMIT steps 2–7, 9, 10, then Submit), and Sizecurve's category features (add Purchase orders, Import and export, Email notifications; remove Auto-restock).

Phase 415: Shopify's AI self-review, run here

The submission page asks for /shopify-app-store-review (Shopify AI Toolkit). The toolkit is installed in this Claude Code, so I ran it here, not the boss. I fetched the live requirements with shopify doc fetch (62 KB) and left the toolkit's telemetry scripts unrun. One Opus 5.5 agent checked app/daybook/ against every item, read-only.

  • Result: 30 likely passing, 0 failing, 1 needs review, 10 groups skipped (theme, payment, purchase option, checkout, channel, post-purchase and the opt-in groups: none apply).
  • Needs review, 3.2.1 read_all_orders: not requested yet. The code needs it: refunds today on orders older than 60 days (src/orders.mjs:209-212), custom ranges up to 366 days, Last month, and the monthly email, which skips days older than 58 without it (src/cron.mjs:369). This is the reason already given for the request.
  • Checked myself: the scopes line in the toml, shopify.idToken() in src/page.mjs, and no cookie or localStorage use in src/ or public/.
  • Not a requirement, noted: the in-app plan line says "$9 a month", but Shopify bills every 30 days. Fix at the next deploy, along with the stale toml comment.
  • To the boss: tick the self-review box.

11:20 Chicago: Close of Day submitted

  • The boss submitted Close of Day for review. The only capability ticked is Embedded. The protected customer data answers are recorded in FACTS.
  • Next: watch for Shopify's review email and answer each point the day it arrives. Once it is approved: add read_all_orders to the toml when that request is granted, fix the "$9 a month" line, and announce on the channels still open.
  • Sizecurve: views read on 10-19, verdict on 10-20.

Phase 416 done: a Sizecurve TikTok queued for today, 18:00 Chicago

  • Video: out/in-the-app.mp4, 23 s, 1080x1920, with sound, made by video_app.py (one Opus 5.5 agent). 1. Hook card: "How many of each size should you reorder?" 2. Three cuts of public/demo.mp4: the dashboard inside the admin (69–74 s), "Every style, net of returns" (119–124 s), and the purchase orders split by size (142.5–148.5 s). 3. End card: "Search Sizecurve / in the Shopify App Store / Free 14-day trial".
  • Checked: I read every 1 s frame and one full-size frame. There is no URL, address bar or store name on any frame, and the text is legible.
  • The reach gate stopped the first caption, which carried no address. The gate stays as it is. The caption now reads "Search Sizecurve in the Shopify App Store, or type apps.shopify.com/sizecurve." test_figures.py reach gives 0 failed.
  • Hosted: media.bananafest-destiny.com/in-the-app.mp4 answers 200 video/mp4.
  • Queued: Buffer TikTok, 2026-10-15T23:00Z. It is scheduled, not published, so the boss can veto it. The queue holds it plus x12 to x14.
  • What it tests: whether a TikTok that asks for an App Store search produces installs or listing visits, where 622 views of link-only posts produced 0 engaged visits. Read it on 10-19 with the rest.

Phase 417 done: Close of Day's first short, rendered and held

  • Video: app/daybook/marketing/video_cod.py (one Opus 5.5 agent). 20 s, 1080x1920, with sound, rendered to the scratchpad only. 1. Hook card: "Does your end-of-day number match Shopify's?" 2. Close of Day: Today: Gross sales 4435.75, Discounts -94.99, Returns -699.95, Net sales 3640.81 (boxed). 3. Shopify's Finances summary: Today: Net sales $3,640.81 (boxed), with "Sales reversals" -$699.95. 4. Card: "Same day. Same net sales." 5. End card: "Search Close of Day in the Shopify App Store / Free 14-day trial".
  • Checked: I read all 20 one-second frames and both full-size frames. There is no URL, store name, location name or email on any frame, and both figures read clearly. Each page holds a frozen frame for a few seconds, because neither stayed still in the recording for long. A still table reads as a still table, so that is fine.
  • Held: nothing is hosted or queued. On the day Close of Day is approved I host it, add a schedule.py campaign for TikTok and YouTube, and queue it, with a caption that carries the listing URL for the reach gate.

Phase 418 done: a second Sizecurve app short, queued for 10-16

  • Video: app/sizecurve/marketing/video_app2.py (one Opus 5.5 agent). 18.5 s, 1080x1920, with sound. 1. Hook card: "Reorder what customers kept, not what they bought." 2. "Returns, per style": the style column joined to the Returns and To order columns, cropped tighter than Phase 416's cuts. Two styles show a 44% return rate in red. 3. "The order, split by size": Purchase orders with the sizes, the Order column and Download CSV. 4. End card: "Search Sizecurve in the Shopify App Store / Free 14-day trial".
  • Checked: I read the one-second sheets and a full-size frame from each cut. Every frame is legible, and there is no URL, store name or email on any of them.
  • Hosted: media.bananafest-destiny.com/in-the-app-2.mp4 returns 200 video/mp4, and its bytes match the render.
  • Queued: campaign app2, TikTok only, at 2026-10-16 23:00Z (18:00 Chicago). The caption ends on an App Store search and apps.shopify.com/sizecurve. The queue now holds both app TikToks plus x12 to x14.

Phase 419 done: Close of Day's launch posts, ready to send on approval

  • Hosted: media.bananafest-destiny.com/close-of-day-short.mp4 returns 200 video/mp4, and its bytes match the Phase 417 render. Until a post names it, nothing links to it.
  • Staged: schedule.py campaign cod, built by one Opus 5.5 agent and checked by me. - It goes to YouTube first and TikTok 2 hours later. The captions name Close of Day, point to App Store search, and link daybook.bananafest-destiny.com tagged ?via=youtube or ?via=tiktok. - The YouTube text now leads with the URL. The first version had it 271 characters in, past the 120-character fold, and the gate refused it. I kept the gate and moved the URL.
  • Refuses until approval: COD_DUE is None. A run without --dry stops with "cod: set COD_DUE first" before any Buffer call (tested with networking blocked).
  • Reach gate: test_figures.py now knows Close of Day's site and name. Every existing post gives the same result as before, three new synthetic cases pass, and the reach check reports 0 failed. app, app2 and cod --dry all pass.
  • On approval day: set COD_DUE and COD_LISTING (I asked the boss for the listing address), run schedule.py cod once, then check the queue.

Phase 420 done: Close of Day's site switches to the listing in one command

  • Tool: app/daybook/tools/approved.mjs <listing URL> (one Opus 5.5 agent, checked by me) makes five edits, each of which must match exactly once: - On the four public pages, "not yet on the Shopify App Store" becomes "Install it from the Shopify App Store", linked to the listing with utm_source=closeofday-site. - The home page gets an install line under its first paragraph. - It then prints the day's next steps: the release (I ask first), indexnow.mjs --submit, and the cod posts.
  • Test: test/approved.test.mjs (4 tests) holds every edit against today's pages and applies them to a copy. A missing anchor throws and writes nothing. config.test.mjs now accepts either wording. npm test: 463 pass, 0 fail.
  • Not switched: public/ is unchanged and nothing is deployed.
  • Approval day, in order: 1. node tools/approved.mjs <listing> 2. Ask, then release. 3. IndexNow. 4. Set COD_DUE and COD_LISTING, then run schedule.py cod once.

Phase 421 done: Close of Day asks for an App Store review after a finished report

  • Change: src/page.mjs gains askForReview() (one Opus 5.5 agent, checked by me). - It calls shopify.reviews.request() 1.5 s after a finished report: a CSV downloaded, a PDF saved, or the print dialog closing on a shown report. - At most once per page load, guarded by shopify.reviews, and every failure is swallowed. - It is not called on load, on Show, from the email section, or on an error.
  • Tests: 7 new in page.test.mjs, including running the script with stubs: exactly three call sites, once per load, and no request after a failed PDF. npm test: 470 pass, 0 fail.
  • Not deployed. The app is in review, so this ships in the approval-day release.
  • A cancelled print of a shown report also asks, because browsers fire afterprint either way. Shopify rate-limits the dialog, so I left it.
  • Also read tonight: a support email that names no app or store asked only whether it had reached "your Shopify app team". It has the shape of a cold pitch. I told the boss to ignore it or ask what it is about, and never to buy reviews or installs.

Phase 422 done: Close of Day shows today's figures as soon as it opens

  • Change: src/page.mjs (one Opus 5.5 agent, checked by me). The page build ends with show(), not awaited, in place of the empty-state line. - The page now opens on Today at All locations, already read: "Reading orders…", then the report, with Print, CSV and PDF enabled. - show() catches its own failures. The email schedule read still runs, and Show works as before.
  • Tests: two new ones: opening the page reads today exactly once and makes no review request, and a failed first read shows its sentence and Show works afterwards. Six page tests and two browser tests that assumed the empty first screen were updated. npm test: 472 pass, 0 fail, with the browser tests run.
  • Not deployed: it ships in the approval-day release with Phases 420 and 421.
  • Out of date after that release, but not edited, because the reviewer has them now: TESTING-INSTRUCTIONS.txt lines 17-18 and SCREENCAST.md line 79 both describe the empty first screen. I update them in the same release, before any later resubmission.
